November was such a busy month, we have more than fit in the email newsletter that we wanted to share!

See below for some additional photos and highlights from our November programming.

MICR College Workshops

In addition to the high school seniors who were working on their applications, we also had high school juniors at the workshop - several of whom were starting the recruitment process for college rugby.

MICR coaches and volunteers worked with these students to help them learn differences between varsity and club sports, how to decide what sort of college athletics will be best for them, and and how to get recruited.

These students created their rugby resumes, highlight reels, and worked on reaching out to coaches at the programs they’re interested in playing for.

One student, a high school senior, arrived at the workshop feeling overwhelmed. She had applied for over 15 schools already, but was struggling to keep track of them.

Her mentor helped her make a list of her top five choices by comparing the schools' degree requirements, tuition, and student life opportunities.

The mentor also prompted the student to look through her email again, and they discovered that she had been accepted to one of her top choices!

They closed out the workshop by setting up her student account at that school and making a list of her next steps.

MICR Middle School Championship Bowl

Soulsville Middle School Girls won the championship bowl, closing out an exciting season of middle school girls’ rugby!

See below for some of our favorite photos from the evening tournament and earlier in the season.

PCA Boys and Soulsville Girls at State

Although neither MICR team won a title, we are so proud of the Soulsville High School Girls and the PCA High School Boys for qualifying for State this year!

Both teams traveled to East Tennessee earlier in November for the tournament, and came away with valuable experience and renewed motivation to come back even stronger next year!
