First Annual 901 Award
Awarded to Dalani Jacobs (FPA, Class of 2026) for her contributions as an ambassador for MICR - playing for four years, being a JULS team leader, working as a Coach-in-Training, and volunteering at events such as the MICR Rugby Field groundbreaking and annual fundraiser.
Wells Award for Most Improved Player
Named after founding MICR teammate JaQuan Wells, this award recognizes a player on each team who has made significant improvement over the course of the year, demonstrating an unrelenting commitment to growth and excellence in the sport of rugby and consistently striving for better skills, fitness, and knowledge at practice and on their own time

Coaches of the Year
Awarded annually to two coaches in recognition of incredible dedication and leadership. These coaches have challenged their players to grow by supporting them through adversity, and helping them achieve remarkable success on and off the field. Their passion for the game, tactical insight, and ability to inspire have made a lasting impact on their athletes and on our rugby community as a whole.
Coach Shaniah Jones, Soulsville Middle School Girls and Soulsville Middle School Boys
Shaniah, a Freedom Prep alum who also participated in MICR’s college mentoring program, came into the Soulsville pathway this year and brought structure, discipline, and an unforgettable sister- and brotherhood to the Soulsville middle school teams, taking home two MICR Bowl titles in two seasons.
Coach Savannah Austin, Soulsville High School Girls
Coach Savvy has been coaching with MICR since 2019, and has coached the Soulsville High School girls for many of those years. We are so happy to present this award to Savvy for providing a safe and welcoming environment for so many players, providing valuable rugby experiences, lasting friendships, and a high level of development for our young athletes. This year, Savvy helped coach our All Stars girls to a third consecutive Urban Rugby Championship and the Soulsville Girls to a 15s State Championship.
